Do not judge me on this fabric
DISCLAIMER: This fabric is not the most tasteful thing ever created, I will admit. I got it as part of a lot sale (at the Saint Sophia’s Greek Festival!), about 15 yards of assorted upholstery fabric for $15. And this was part of it.
But I have a swivel chair that needed a new look, so I thought of experimenting with the cheap fabric to make a slipcover.
Before:
After:
At least, since it’s a slipcover, it’s removable!
Here are some of the details. Around the sides of the seat, it has flaps that go around the spindles of the arms of the chair.
It has brown ribbon to tie it into bows near the base of the seat.
The back of the chair has buttonholes so that the front can fold under and button up.
And the arms of the chair tie, too. This shows the ribbon before it’s tied:
When it’s tied in a bow, the ribbon disappears under the arm.
Now that I’ve made the paper pattern for this chair, and it works in fabric, I can always make another slipcover in a better fabric when it comes along.

The fabric is not my personal taste, but it’s certainly not horrible. Your slipcover, however is totally awesome! I just love how crisp and neat you made it – sloppy slips just don’t do it for me. All in all the look of that chair is A+ and in the right room even the fabric will be perfect. Very inspiring.
