Our Thanksgiving Dinner Supplier
Although I like to keep this blog directed toward handmade goods and life arts, I just wanted to take a quick moment to promote the farm that will be providing our heritage turkey: Legacy Manor Farm in Boonsboro, MD. My boyfriend and I took a trip out there in October to pick up lard and some other essentials when our weekly farm delivery group was out. Here are some pictures of the free-range animals, mostly pigs because the other animals had places to go and things to see.
BTW, the turkeys were majestic and a little intimidating, although I think in a fight the geese would take them.
I am so happy that places like this still exist so that consumers have an option to buy food from animals who are not tortured throughout their lives. Because, when you think about it and do a little research, that is what happens to most of our food just to save the livestock manufacturers, not farmers, a few pennies a head. OK, off my soap box for the day…back to upholstery!
